I am so tired of hearing about the “cloud” I could just scream. You already know how I feel about new buzzwords made up by marketing geeks to hype up some product and create new brands, and end up confusing people while they sell more stuff, claiming it’s “new.”
We have posted the recording of our Ad Hock technical webinar, held at 9AM CT on February 16. The session went very well, and we had about 50 people attend. Most wanted a demonstration and discussion of branding, customizing, and building RBackup Client installers, so we spent the entire hour and ten minutes on that.
There were a lot of insightful questions and in-depth answers, so this is a good Webinar to watch. The Webinar was presented by Rob Cosgrove in Memphis, and Pinku Bharti in our Chennai, India office.
The average charge for a personal online backup account charged by our Service Providers is $9/month. Overhead expenses for providing tech support services can range from $50 per hour to well over $200 per hour depending on salaries and other costs of doing business. This article seeks to uncover some of the support costs inherent in Personal accounts which do not exist in Business accounts.
If you think you want to compete with Carbonite for that $5/month business, you should have $23 million dollars per year that you can afford to lose. That’s the amount of money that Carbonite lost in 2011, according to their recently released financials.
We have had some requests for free technical webinars. I would like to produce the first one on Thursday of next week, February 16, at 9 AM US Central Time.
I can do anything you like, so let’s vote on it, and I will do the first one on a topic that you decide.
We will keep the Webinar to an hour, and it will be interactive throughout. You will be able to ask questions by typing them, and we will answer as best we can.
Space is limited to 60 attendees. Please answer the survey below and then register for the first event at this link:
We will not be able to answer questions related to specific technical support problems, or sales and marketing – just general topics. Please vote below.

I need a little help wrapping my head around something. Maybe you can help. You’ve been asking me for a Bare Metal Backup feature, and I am about to give it to you. My questions are all about how you’re going to use it, and how you’re going to charge for it, and truthfully, I want to know why you want an online BMR backup solution at all.
