Online Backup Partner’s Hot Site Activated for 2013 Hurricane Season

online backup software hotsite activatedRemote Backup Systems, founders of the online backup industry and developers of the RBackup and Mercury OEM Online Backup platforms, has activated its Emergency Backup Hot Site for use by its Partmers in the path of hurricane activity this season, at no cost.

This resource is available to RBackup Partners whose data centers are in the path of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, or widespread power outages that threaten to interrupt normal operation.

If an RBS Server goes offline as a result of a natural disaster, RBS can temporarily reroute backups from clients to secure servers at the Hot Site near Memphis, Tennessee, to prevent interruption of business for the Partners. When the disaster is over and the partner’s data centers are back online, the Partner can download cliemnt backups and resume normal operation.

The NOAA predicts a more active than usual hurricane season for 2013. Remote Backup Systems urges its partners to take advantage of this service. Information on the protocols for transferring backups to the Hot Site can be found on their website, at http://www.remote-backup.com.

Remote Backup Systems would like to remind Partners that a natural disaster can occur any time, year round. Emergency Hot Site Servers are always on standby, in the case of a winter storm such as the storm that struck the Northeaster United States this past February.

Built into Remote Backup Systems multi-award winning flagship product, RBackup, is a feature called the Server Locator. It enables a service provider to maintain normal business in the event of a disaster by immediately transferring end users to the RBS Hot Site. The Server Locator also enables Partners to move their RBS Servers safely to any Internet connection with a dynamic IP address anywhere in the world, at a moment’s notice. No other company offers this business-saving service.

In the event of an outage,  Providers can simply move their equipment to an alternate location with Internet service, and the Server Locator will seamlessly redirect their clients within seconds to the new location.
