Online Backup Software Pioneer Announces Availability of Latest Version of Industry Defining White Labeled RBackup Online Backup Software

Remote Backup Systems today announced the immediate availability of its RBackup Online Backup software for Service Providers. Partners of RBS use RBackup to provide fully brandable, self-hosted Online Backup services to more than a million end users worldwide.

The latest version, v11.10, introduces some new features.

Full Image Backup and Restore – v11.10 is able to back up and restore complete hard drive images. The images are stored in Microsoft Hyper-V format (.VHD files) which can be directly mounted for Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) and immediately used in place of the original hard drive. They can also be restored to different computers and are bootable if the original source drive was bootable.

VMware Backups and Restores – v11.10 can back up VMware client files when RBackup is run in the host operating system.

Exchange 2013 Brick Level – v11.10 has a completely rewritten Exchange agent that provides bulletproof backups and restores for all versions of Exchange up to the current version, Exchange 2013.

NTFS Permissions – v11.10 can back up and restore NTFS Permissions along with their files and folders. It can also restore Permissions separately from files and folders.

New Email Notifications – v11.10 has two new Email Notifications. It can now send notifications if a Cloud storage location is unavailable at the time of backup, and if an attached hard drive is unavailable.

NetReady – v11.10’s new NetReady function can initiate a backup of laptop computers as soon as they connect to the Internet. This feature is valuable for laptops that are not always connected, so they can’t operate on a time-based schedule.

In addition to all these new features, RBackup v11.10 has dozens of tweaks and improvements to existing functionality which increases speed, reporting, and reliability of the product.

A Maintenance Release scheduled for mid May will include significant upgrades to features that backup and restore Active Directory, System State, and Group Policy. RBackup’s Full Image Backup will be enhanced with additional functionality, and a new Archiving feature will be added which will be able to move backed up files from online storage to cheaper offline storage for archiving instead of simply deleting files that are older than their retention dates.

“We’re VERY excited about this release,” said Rob Cosgrove, President and Founder of RBS, “It’s a leap forward for the technology, and it will give our Partners an unbeatable tool for offering fully hybridized backup and BDR solutions demanded by today’s businesses.”

RBackup, in development and distribution since 1987, is the world’s most mature brandable hybrid backup solution, offering fully encrypted, fully compliant backups to secure Online Backup servers while at the same time offering backups to local devices, cloud services, and now including Full Drive Image Backups for Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR.)
