Remote Backup Systems revamps website and pricing, adds new support options.
Remote Backup Systems, the leader in providing Online Backup Software for VARs and MSPs, has reduced prices on most of its software packages by as much as half, making RBS the most affordable software in the marketplace.
“Our Service Providers requested this change,” explained Rob Cosgrove, CEO, “They want to be able to offer a higher level of service at the same price as many of the lower priced services out there.”
Cosgrove pointed out that the new lower prices will allow RBS’ service providers to reduce their prices to their end users. “As has happened in the past, we expect these free services, and those charging rediculously cheap prices using software with very few features to wake up soon and smell the red ink”, said Cosgrove, “We expect a number of them to disappear in 2008, leaving those with reasonable prices to prosper in this fast-moving market.”
RBS has changed its support options to allow for two levels – Basic and Priority Support. The less expensive Basic Support is for Service Providers who don’t need a lot of hand-holding, and are competent with the software. Priority Support is for Service Providers who prefer direct contact with a live Support technician.
All software packages come with at least 30 days of Priority Support (some come with up to a full year), and one year of Basic Support. For those who don’t want to pay for annual Priority Support, it can be bought for $40 per case. Three new Support Technicians have been hired to help with the new support options.
As part of its pricing revamp, RBS has completed an in-depth price comparison of its competitors. “It’s eye-opening,” said Cosgrove, “The spreadsheet clearly shows how one of these companies, the one with the cheapest prices, misleads their customers with confusing client licensing policies and very high ongoing maintenance fees, making them BY FAR the most expensive of all.”
