Remote Backup Systems Records Most Successful Quarter in Company’s 20-Year History

Increased demand by users from SMBs to the enterprise and SSPs drives
rapid adoption of world’s most feature-rich online backup software solution

Memphis, Tenn. – July 25, 2007 – Remote Backup Systems Inc. (RBS) today announced that it has just completed the most successful quarter in the company’s history with record shipments of its award-winning RBackupâ„¢ online backup software solution to both storage service providers, who are then empowered to provide Internet-based backup for their customers, and end-user customers of all sizes, from small- and medium-sized businesses to enterprise clients, implementing the solution in-house.

Last quarter’s release of RBackup 2007, version 9.4 of the company’s flagship product, has proven to be an unqualified success, providing a host of new features and functionality including native support for open files, mirroring capabilities that can automatically back up RBS server data to a secondary location, message-level support for live Microsoft Exchange databases, multiple-instance support for live SQL databases and automatic remote updates to the RBackup client software.

To best maintain the positive momentum the company has recently achieved, RBS is doubling of physical space of its international headquarters to keep up with the company’s rapid growth, as well as the doubling its staff of developers and backup support personnel who provide technical assistance to US and international clients. RBS has also appointed two experienced storage executives to director positions, responsible for sales and product development of future versions of RBackup.  The two will report directly to RBS CEO Rob Cosgrove.

“We are pleased to continue our market leadership in the industry with the completion of our most successful quarter ever,” said Cosgrove.  “With the recent surge in adoption by VARs, IT service providers, SMBs and larger businesses with remote/branch offices of our automated Internet backup solution, we are expanding our executive team and having them join a team of dedicated employees whose efforts have directly contributed to our success.  We refuse to rest on our laurels, instead actively planning for the next 20 years and another 1.5 million installs.”

Founded in 1987, RBS has shipped its online backup software solution to more than 1.5 million clients in 68 countries, easily making it the most widely used subscription-based online backup software in the world.  RBS defined the technical protocol that is now used as the standard for moving backups of microcomputer data files around the Internet. RBackup supports full, incremental, differential and sub-file backups of client data sets, and offers unparalleled security, version control and ease of use. The product can also maintain a quickly restorable data set within a client’s secure LAN.
